8/25/2019 0 Comments the Writer's Digest Conference '19![]() I had an amazing time at the Writer's Digest Conference 2019: meeting, learning from, and reconnecting with so many incredible people. A love of words has the power to unite people with so many different stories to tell, and I am so thankful to get to experience this camaraderie between writers. This was my second annual WDC, and I felt more comfortable this time, in knowing more of what to expect, and seeing familiar faces. The culture of WD is so supportive and encouraging, and I feel respected as a colleague despite being much younger than most, which I am grateful for. I learned so much, through the seminars I attended, through the advice and experience of others in the literary community. For me, this is really inspiring and motivating. I plan to write other posts about my most important takeaways, but the underlying message between every piece of advice was clear: the literary world is a chaotic one, but it's more than worth it if you truly love what you write. I had the opportunity to take part in the Pitch Slam, where authors have a chance to meet select agents, and must describe their book in less than 90 seconds. Six agents requested parts of my manuscript, and I received one full-manuscript request, so I'm brimming with excitement! I'll keep you posted, of course...
